Insured Clients
Treatment carried out on insured patients should still be paid at the time. Claim forms should be brought to the practice when the treatment is finished.
We only do direct claims with the following insurance companies:
It is the client's responsibility to pay for anything not covered by the insurance company.
- Small animal clients are invoiced at the time work is carried out and payment is expected at that time. If payment is not made at the time of the treatment/procedure:
- The client will be sent away with an invoice, or an invoice will be emailed/posted that day.
- After 7 days, a statement will be sent marking the amount as overdue and requesting immediate payment. Blairgowrie Vets Ltd has the right to charge interest and late payment fees if the account is not settled.
- After 14 days a further statement will be sent which will be followed by a phone call.
- After 21 days, a letter will be sent advising that if payment is not received within 7 days, then the matter will be passed to a debt collection agency. At this stage a late payment fee of £25 plus VAT will be applied.
External Laboratory Fees (inc. Allergy Vaccines)
- Blairgowrie Vets Ltd has no control over the fees charged for tests carried out at an external laboratory. We can, however, give you and estimate of cost. External laboratory fees are normally charged once the results are available, which can be a matter of days or weeks.
Referral Fees and Advice Requests
- If your pet is referred to another Veterinary Practice/Hospital or a Specialist Referral Centre, there will be a charge applied. This is to cover the cost of the Vet's time and administration costs to ensure that the referral centre has the necessary information for your visit.
- We are very lucky that we can speak to specialists on your behalf to get advice about your pet's case. Again, there is a cost associated with this, which is usually applied by the service provider.
