Following Brexit UK pet passports can no longer be used for travel to Europe. If you already have a UK passport for any of your animals you can still use this as proof of rabies vaccination.
Up to date details should always be checked at APHA (Taking your pet dog, cat or ferret abroad - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) ) and with the country you are travelling to. Northern Ireland is included in the EU Pet Travel Scheme.
Details can be found on the Northern Ireland DAERA website (Travelling with Pets | Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (daera-ni.gov.uk))
We are happy to help with exports and can provide the AHC necessary for travel. Currently these certificates are valid for 10 days from the date of signing for entry into Europe and for four months for travel within Europe and return to the UK.
If you are planning to travel, we suggest that you contact us at least four weeks before you travel so we can ensure everything is in place for your journey.
We can also help with travel to countries outside of the EU. Again, please check the APHA website and with the country you are travelling to.
If you are transporting your animals by air then the regulations of the carrier should be checked carefully well in advance.
As always, please contact us well in advance of your travel dates so we can ensure that we have complied with all health requirements of the country to which you or your animals are travelling.
